Significant Achievements

Reported 407 species of marine and estuarine fauna new from India as a taxa expert in various scientific publications which includes 134 species of fishes, 227 species of mollusca and 46 species of platyhelminthes (as on Oct 2023).

Reported 113 species of other marine fauna new from India as a team member in various scientific publications which includes 67 species of corals, 44 species of gorgonians and 2 species of crustaceans.

Co-developed the first coastal and marine biodiversity database of India and the online species identification tool: CoMBINe – Coastal and Marine Biodiversity Integrated Network (https://combine.ncscm.res.in/combine/)

Submitted 25 management plans to various government departments.

Attended the international training program on “Basics of taxonomy: describing, illustrating, and communicating biodiversity” at Sven Loven Centre for Marine Sciences, Kristineberg, Sweden during 2013.
