Amphibia Section

The section deals with the study of Amphibia. Thirty programs have been handled by the section and have completed the databases of all the States of north- eastern and northern India except Nagaland and Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. 14 families of Indian amphibians belonging to all 3 orders have been dealt till date comprising of 169 species. The present holdings of the section include 36304 specimens Besides, the section also possesses 143 specimens from other countries and 326 type specimens.
