Fellow Award from Andaman Science Association, Andaman & Nicobar Islands for outstanding contribution. 6. Best performance and outstanding contribution award in the Island Tourism Festival by the Andaman & Nicobar Administration. 7. 80 new records to India, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Kerala & Great Indian Desert from various faunal group especially birds, mammals, moths, wasp, odonates. He also reported new species of frog, tree shrew, termites, earthworm, butterflies, moth etc. 8. More than 50 research labs of animal house facilities such as pharmaceutical companies, Medical College, Veterinary College, arts & science college. He was main force to bring the guidelines for the animal house facilities and syllabus for the training course in respect of experimentation on animals. 9. Recognized supervisor for Ph.D. research under the Pondicherry University and nine candidate completed Ph.D., and four are under pursuing. 10. Conducted certificate course on Para-Taxonomist including PBR; Bird Identification and Basic Ornithology under the Green Skill Development Programme of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, training workshop on Costal and Marine Biodiversity of Island ecosystem sponsored by MoEF&CC. 11. Workshop on Bird identification and Basic ornithology under accelerate vigyan by SERB, Department of Science and Technology. Training for IFS Probationers, and in-service IFS officers since 2017 for the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy on Biodiversity of A & N Islands and possible collaboration with ZSI. Conceptualized and bringing “National Coral Reef Research Institute” to the islands, through Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India which would give recognition to the islands not only Nationally but also Globally. 16. Established Molecular Systematics Laboratory in ZSI, Port Blair which will increase our understanding of eco-evolutionary processes of the long-isolated, environmentally diverse, and rich biodiversity of this island ecosystem. 17. Initiated to creation of EIACP Centre in ZSI, Port Blair through MoEF&CC, Government of India. Through EIACP centre the following works will be disseminated, i.e., inventory of authentic information on the Biodiversity of A&N Islands, providing baseline information for the researchers, academicians etc., undertake various application-oriented research on biodiversity, awareness workshop, seminar to the school, college students and general public, ENVIS Centre will also be helpful to identify an area to promote eco-tourism and to enhance the revenue of government. 18. Hon’ble Union Home Ministry has inaugurated the National Repository for Island Faunal Diversity, which host the voucher specimens of fauna of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and adjacent southeast Asian countries. These voucher specimens form the basis for research on evolution, speciation, distribution, taxonomy, systematics, ecology and evolutionary biology. Besides, this repository building also will be used as museum through LED display of endemic, endangered fauna of this archipelago.

-First attempt (ZSI) based on environmentalmetagenomicsstudies of aquatic ecosystems such as Ramsar sites, Rivers, Polluted Drains, STPs/ETPs, drinking water, groundwater and Cancer affected villages. - First attempt (ZSI) based on gut microbiota studies to decipher the microbial communities present in economically important species such as thrips and spiders. - Water Quality (Physico-chemical data) of approximately 200 different sites (Including East Kolkata Wetland, Ganga River, STPs, Najafgarh Drain, drinking water and Groundwater)has been generated (Water Quality Indexing) and compiled keeping in view the standards prescribed by CPCB, New Delhi, World Health Organization (WHO), and United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). - Metal Speciation studies from approximately 60 drinking water samples and 27 ground water samples was carried out and results were compiled in line with drinking water standard of WHO followed by Health Risk Indexing (HRI). |
